Millie Gibbons sets a new Double Everesting Women’s World Record

Millie Gibbons

On the slopes of Sant Martí Sacalm, rising from the small town of Amer in Catalonia, British cyclist Millie Gibbons has written a new chapter in Everesting’s history books.

Over 38 hours and 39 minutes, she climbed 17,965 meters across 30 repeats and 493 kilometres — enough to claim the Double Everesting Women’s World Record.

The attempt was no coincidence. Millie was inspired by her good friend Alex McCormack, himself also a Double Everester — who was also by her side throughout the effort as part of her support crew.

“It was magical. I got to see two sunrises and two sunsets over the same mountains doing what I love most, which is riding uphill. It was a lot of fun.”

Two sunrises. Two sunsets. Thirty climbs. One record. Millie Gibbons, we’re in awe.
