Early Bird now open for Everesting Austria event!

Everesting launches new official event in the heart of the Austrian Alps on May 30

Everesting Austria

After the success of the inaugural world championship on Mount Etna in Sicily, it’s now the turn of Dobratsch in Villach (Carinthia, Austria).

The event, held on asphalt and with the route closed to traffic, will offer different formats for athletes of all levels.

Everesting, the home of elevation, continues to expand its offerings for climbing enthusiasts and announces the creation of a new official cycling event to join its global calendar: Everesting Austria, which will take place at the end of May in the spectacular Austrian Alps, featuring an ascent of Mount Dobratsch and based in the town of Villach.

It will be an opportunity for the endurance community to collectively take on the challenge of repeating the climbs required to match the total elevation gain of Mount Everest, 8,848 meters (29,029 feet). In this case, the Full Everesting will involve seven and a half repetitions of the 16-kilometer ascent, with an elevation gain of nearly 1,200 meters each time.

Key Features of Everesting Austria:

Challenge options: participants can choose from Eighth, Quarter, Half, or Full Everesting, offering a format suitable for riders of all levels, from milestone seekers to hardcore climbers.

Solo or Team participation: cyclists may compete individually or form teams of 2, 4, or 8 to tackle the Full Everesting and complete the challenge together.

Full road closure: for the 19-hour cut-off period, Dobratsch will be closed exclusively to participants, ensuring a safe and uninterrupted ride.

Panoramic route: the event takes place on one of Austria’s most iconic mountain roads, providing views over Carinthia and the Julian Alps.

Celebration: riders conclude at the Villach Basecamp Festival, featuring music, local food and drinks, and the vibrant atmosphere of the Everesting community.

Registrations for Everesting Austria are now open, with an early bird period running until November 17. Interested participants can find all the details and register at www.everesting.com

In addition, Everesting has already announced the second edition of the World Championship in Sicily, scheduled for September 26, 2026, and is finalizing the details of two or three additional events on iconic European climbs, which will be revealed soon.
