Carlos Bucurú conquers the first known Triple Roam Everesting

Carlos Bucuru

Carlos Bucurú has just completed the first known Triple Roam Everesting: 30,315m of elevation and 1,295 km across some of the most iconic climbs in Colombia, in just over 115 hours.

Carlos was already no stranger to completing a Triple Everesting — but this was something else entirely. Taking on the new Roam format, with no repeated climbs required, he pushed through even the toughest moments without ever stopping.

In his own words:

“This was the toughest experience I have ever done, living through crisis moments after 25,000 positive metres.

We climbed the best mountain passes in the country — Alto de la Línea, Alto de Letras, Parque de los Nevados (4,160m altitude), Páramo de Sumapaz, among other mountain passes with great distances.

However, it is an experience that every cyclist enjoys — discovering and getting to know their country and its people. The fundamental support came from the Ultrafondistas Colombia community.

The feeling of achieving something this incredible is unique — pushing the limits and testing ourselves against everything the road can throw at us.

A year ago we completed an Everesting X4, but on this occasion we want this to be visible so that many more people feel inspired to attempt an Everesting.

As I always say: UNTIL THE MIND SHUTS DOWN.
