Pyrenees Everesting Tour

Journey to new heights in the stunning Pyrenees

(In partnership with Eat Sleep Cycle)

Looking for an elevation-packed Pyreneen adventure? Join an official Everesting tour as we take on 11,700 m – 16,000 m of climbing over 6 days in the high mountains of the French Pyrenees.

Test yourself on some of the toughest climbs HC in cycling. Headline climbs include the Tourmalet, the Peyresourde, the Aspin, the Hautacam, Soulour, Aubisque and more. Ride out from three Pyrenean bases – the pretty town of Bagnères de Luchon, Saint Lary Soulan and Saint Savin.

Climb the iconic cols of cycling and tick them off your bucket list. Each day you can choose to ‘Make it Epic’ and add an extra climb, bringing the total elevation of the trip to an eye-watering, leg sapping total of over 16,000 m (that’s twice up Everest).

Join the official Everesting team for this once-in-a-lifetime climbing experience. Built and approved by Everesters, for Everesters – these are officially certified climbing trips like no other.

In addition to accumulating more than the height of Everest during the camp, you’ll pick up invaluable climbing and descending skills from our experienced guides.

Pyrenees Everesting Tour

itinerary

A group transfer departs from Toulouse Airport at 11:00 to the Pyrenean village of Bagnéres de Luchon. Enjoy a light lunch on arrival then it’s time get set up and ready to ride! Our warm-up is fitting for the week ahead – a spin up our first HC climb, the Superbagnères.

EAT: Light lunch on arrival, evening meal

SLEEP: Hotel Etigny

CYCLE: Superbagnères, 35km, 1,100m

Enjoy a picturesque loop taking on the cols of Ares and Mente. Make it epic? Add an ascent of the Port de Bales for good measure. Notoriously tough, this is how to make your legs hurt tomorrow.

EAT: Breakfast, picnic lunch, evening meal

SLEEP: Hotel Etigny

CYCLE: Ares, Mente, 94km, 2,200m

Today say farewell to Bagnèrès du Luchon and ride north over the Peyresourde – a climb on the bucket list of everyone in cycling! Stop at the cafe at the top for fresh crepes and enjoy a sweeping descent. The Val Louron Azet is up next. Listen to cow bells as you climb! Our resting place is down the other side in the spa town of Sant Lary Soulan. Make today (more) epic with a long climb up to the Lac du Cap du Long.

EAT: Breakfast, picnic lunch, evening meal

SLEEP: Hotel Mercure

CYCLE: Bagnères de Luchon to Saint Lary Soulan Peyresourde, Val Louron Azet, 42 km, 1,600 m

This is one is a classic July afternoon at the Tour de France. A big challenge ahead which inlcudes the infamous slopes of the Col d’Aspin and the Tourmalet. Our Queen stage features two climbs that guarantee to light the torch paper as the peleton crosses. Make it epic with a climb of the Hautacam for a truly huge and painful day on the bike.

SLEEP: Hotel Rochers

CYCLE: Saint Lary Soulan to Saint Savin, Aspin, Tourmalet, 88 km, 2,400 m

These roads have witnessed some epic cycling battles and moments that made it into Cycling’s history book. (The most recent being that between Pojacar & Vingegaard in the 2022 Tour) Today is breathtakingly beautiful – enjoy the climb to the Solour, ride the Cirque du Litor road to the Aubisque and return. For riders wishing to leave it all on the road make it epic with an ascent of the Spandelles – a stunning little-known climb which made Tour de France headlines in 2022.
