1. About These Terms
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Everesting platform, which includes the Everesting mobile app (“the App”) and the Everesting website and Hall of Fame at everesting.com (“the Website”), collectively referred to as “the Platform”. The Platform is operated by Everesting Challenge SL (tax identification number B70725288), with registered office at Freixa, 6, 08021 Barcelona, Spain (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By creating an account or using any part of the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use the Platform. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
If you are under 18, you confirm that you have obtained the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the Platform.
3. Account Creation
To access the Platform’s features, you must create an account using a valid email address and password. The same account provides access to both the App and the Website. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must provide accurate and complete information when registering. If any of your details change, you are responsible for updating them.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe have been compromised.
4. Strava Connection
The Platform connects to your Strava account via OAuth to import your elevation activity data. By connecting your Strava account, you authorise us to access your Strava elevation data, activity metadata (date, sport type, duration), and athlete profile information (name, profile photo).
We do not access or store GPS routes, heart rate, power data, or any other health metrics beyond elevation. You can disconnect your Strava account at any time from within the App or directly through your Strava account settings.
Your use of Strava is also subject to Strava’s own terms of service and privacy policy.
5. Freemium Model and Subscriptions
Free Tier
The App is free to download and includes access to core features including Elevation Challenges and the Elevation Index score. The Website and Hall of Fame are freely accessible to all users.
Premium Subscription
Access to historic data in the Elevation Index and other premium features requires a paid subscription. Subscription options and pricing are displayed within the App.
Billing
Subscriptions are billed through Apple’s App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings (iOS) or Google Play account settings (Android). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are subject to Apple’s refund policy (iOS) or Google’s refund policy (Android).
Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. You will be given reasonable notice of any price changes before they take effect.
6. Platform Features
Elevation Index
Your Elevation Index is a cumulative score calculated from your all-time elevation activity imported via Strava. It is tied to your account and does not reset. It is displayed in both the App and on the Website.
Elevation Ranking
The Elevation Ranking is a 12-month rolling leaderboard based on elevation data imported from Strava. Rankings are updated periodically and reflect genuine recorded activity only.
Elevation Challenges
Elevation Challenges are structured goals with defined targets and timeframes. Participation is voluntary. Challenge results depend on activity data recorded via Strava.
We reserve the right to modify, cancel, or replace challenges at any time. We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience arising from changes to challenges.
Hall of Fame
The Hall of Fame is a publicly accessible directory hosted on the Website that records verified Original Everesting finishers. Your name, completion details, and associated activity data may be displayed publicly in the Hall of Fame upon verified completion of an Everesting challenge.
By completing an Everesting challenge and submitting your activity for verification, you consent to your finisher record being displayed publicly in the Hall of Fame. If you wish to have your record removed, contact us at [email protected].
7. Physical Activity Disclaimer
The Platform is designed to track and display elevation data from your existing activity. It does not prescribe training programmes or provide medical advice.
By using the Platform, you acknowledge that physical activity carries inherent risks. You are solely responsible for assessing your own fitness and capability before undertaking any activity. We strongly recommend consulting a medical professional before beginning any new exercise programme.
This disclaimer applies to independent use of the Platform. Organised Everesting events are governed by separate event-specific terms and conditions provided at the point of registration.
8. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Upload, submit, or display activity data that has been falsified, manipulated, or otherwise does not represent genuine recorded effort
- Attempt to manipulate your Elevation Index, Ranking position, or Challenge progress by any means other than legitimate recorded activity
- Submit false or misleading information in connection with an Everesting completion claim or Hall of Fame entry
- Use the Platform in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or its systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Platform or its infrastructure
We reserve the right to remove any data, suspend, or terminate any account where we reasonably believe these rules have been violated, without prior notice.
9. User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Platform (including profile information and activity data). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and process that content for the purpose of operating the Platform and its features, including the public display of finisher records in the Hall of Fame.
You are solely responsible for any content you submit. You must not submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes the rights of any third party.
10. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the Platform — including but not limited to the Everesting name, logo, Elevation Index methodology, challenge formats, and Hall of Fame — are owned by or licensed to Everesting Challenge SL and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any part of the Platform without our express written consent.
11. Cookies and Web Tracking
The Website uses cookies and similar technologies to manage sessions, analyse usage, and improve the user experience. For full details of the cookies used and your choices, please refer to our Cookie Policy.
The App does not use browser cookies. Analytics and diagnostic data collected within the App are governed by our Privacy Policy.
12. Third-Party Services
The Platform integrates with third-party services including Strava, RevenueCat, Firebase, and Klaviyo. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or content of third-party services.
13. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we exclude all liability for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of earnings, or personal injury.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
14. Changes to the Platform
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Platform.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this document. If the changes are significant, we will notify you via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from within the App or by contacting us at [email protected]. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.
Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Your finisher record in the Hall of Fame may be retained unless you explicitly request its removal. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.
17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Barcelona, Spain.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you may also have rights under the laws of your country of residence that cannot be excluded by this clause.
