Carolina Leiva, a passionate cyclist who grew up in Chile with the Andes as her backdrop, never imagined that her toughest climb wouldn’t be on a bike—but within herself.

In May 2020, after seven years of unexplained symptoms, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis—a condition with no cure, only treatments to slow its progress. Her once strong, capable body now faced unpredictable limits.

For years, she battled relapses, weakness, and exhaustion. Then, in June 2023, she made the toughest decision of her life: to undergo a risky stem cell transplant. For 100 days, she was at her most vulnerable, facing uncertainty and fear. But she resisted, endured, and survived.

“Emerging from that fight, I knew: if I could overcome this, I could conquer anything. That’s when Everesting became my next challenge—this time, for a cause.“

Determined to push her limits, Carolina has since completed two Basecamps, each ride a powerful statement of resilience and strength.

“I rode to raise funds for Fundacion Caminemos.mx proving that no mountain—real or metaphorical—is impossible to climb.“

Her journey is a reminder that strength is not just physical—it’s in the will to keep moving forward. 💪
