In March 2023, Ariane Martel Bouchard made history as the first person ever to complete a full Everesting in snowshoes—an idea that started with a simple challenge:

“I’m always trying to push my limits and after speaking with@andyvanbergen , I realised that an Everesting in snowshoes had never been done before… so I said, ‘Bingo!’”

At Mont Lac-Vert in her native Québec, Canada, she took on 39 brutal ascents, pushing through deep snow, exhaustion, and temperatures dropping to -20°C with wind chill. The pain hit early:

“From the 7th or 8th climb, the pain started… I knew it was going to show up at some point, but not so soon.”

By nightfall, it became a battle of pure willpower. Sleep deprivation, fatigue, and doubt set in.

“During the night, I had a thousand doubts in my head, and I wondered if I was really going to make it.”

But she kept moving—step by step, climb by climb, drawing strength from supporters who stood in the snow, cheering her on. After 40 gruelling hours, she reached 8,932m of elevation and raised nearly $10,000 for Sur La Pointe Des Pieds, a charity that helps young people with cancer experience life-changing outdoor adventures.

And she wasn’t done. In December 2024, Ariane pushed even further—completing the world’s first double Everesting on a treadmill: 117 km and 17,696m of elevation in just 32 hours.

Ariane doesn’t just test limits—she obliterates them. A true Everesting legend.
