Everesting

multiple everesting Rules

The rules are simple:  Pick any hill, anywhere in the world and complete repeats of it in a single activity until you climb your chosen Everesting challenge height.

Just hit the SUBMIT button in the top right corner, log in to your account and upload your Strava activity.

Our crew will carefully review your attempt, and once approved, you’ll earn your place among thousands of trailblazers, athletes, and adventurers in our global Hall of Fame.

  • To complete the challenge you must gain the total elevation of your chosen Everesting Challenge in one effort.
  • – Single Everesting: 8848m (29,029ft)
    – Double Everesting: 17,696m (58,058ft)
    – Triple Everesting: 26,544m (87,087ft)
    – Quadruple Everesting: 35,392m (116,116ft)
    ..etc.
  • Check routes and segments on the Everesting calculator to make sure they appropriate.
  • Your attempt must be recorded on Strava.
  • Anything that has a vertical gain can be used to complete an Everesting. Your multiple Everesting can include full Everestings of different hills. Rides must be full ascents of your chosen climb each time. You can’t commit to a combination of full and half laps.
  • Rides cannot be loops. The descent must be via the same road unless you are prevented from doing so (e.g. one-way street or one-way trail).
  • Once you hit your climbing target you can abandon that repeat.
  • You can start and finish the ride anywhere on the hill (bottom, middle, or top)
  • Each repeat must be ridden up and down (i.e. you can’t get driven down each time).
  • You need to keep your device recording the whole time.
  • The challenge must be completed in one attempt with the sleep allowance listed below.
  • For more than one Everesting in one activity, sleep is allowed.
    – The first Everesting must still be completed with no sleep
    – An allowance for up to 2 hours sleep for each ‘subsequent’ Everesting
    – This 2 hour allowance is a total, so it can be taken as 1x 2hr sleep, 2x 1hr sleeps, 4x 30min sleeps etc.
  • For example:
    – Single Everesting: No sleep
    – Double Everesting: 2 hours total sleep
    – Triple Everesting: 4 hours total sleep
    – Quadruple Everesting: 6 hours total sleep
    ..etc.
  • This allowance is to reduce the impact of sleep deprivation and ensure that you get back down off the mountain safely. As with single Everesting attempts please ensure that you have support on hand to assist in making an independent judgement call on your fatigue levels.
  • Breaks for meals are acceptable.
  • You can break for as long as you need, keep in mind this counts towards the total elapsed time. Your final time for the challenge is taken as the total elapsed time of the attempt, not the total moving time.
  • For Everestings beyond a triple there are additional stipulations required:
  • – Advance notification of attempt via email to the Everesting team
    – Provide live tracking of the attempt (e.g. Strava Beacon, GPS live tracking etc.)
    – Provide evidence of sleep strategy
