Climb a combined 8,848m as a team on gravel and MTB-friendly trails through forests and alpine terrain in the Pyrenees.

General information

What is the Everesting Teams Challenge Vielha?
It is a team-based ultra-endurance cycling event inspired by the Everesting challenge. It takes place in Vielha (Val d’Aran) on September 12-13, 2025.

What is the race route?
The course is an 18 km circuit with 550 meters of accumulated elevation gain, mainly on dirt tracks. Teams must complete multiple laps to reach the 8,848 meters of positive elevation gain equivalent to Mount Everest.

How many people can be in a team?
Teams can consist of either 2 or 4 cyclists.

Registration

When and how can I register?
Registration is open from March 17 to September 12, 2025, and must be completed exclusively through the organizer’s online platform.

What are the registration fees?

Early bird registration (until May 31): €95
Standard registration (June 1 to September 12): €125

Can I register as an individual?
No, only pairs or teams of four cyclists are allowed.

Can I transfer my registration to another person?
Transfers are allowed up to 48 hours before the event, with the organizer’s approval. An administrative fee may apply.

Participation and Requirements

Is there a participant limit?
Yes, the event is limited to 2,000 cyclists.

Do I need a cycling license to participate?
Yes, you must have a valid cycling federation license or purchase a one-day license when registering.

What are the age requirements?

Participants must be at least 18 years old.
Riders aged 16-17 may participate with parental consent and organizer approval.

Is prior endurance event experience required?
Not mandatory, but highly recommended for long-distance or endurance sports experience.

Equipment

What type of bike can I use?

Gravel bikes with 32-40 mm tires or mountain bikes with knobby tires (32-40 mm width recommended).
E-bikes, unicycles, tricycles, or tandems are not allowed.

Is wearing a helmet mandatory?
Yes, a certified helmet must be worn at all times.

Will mechanical assistance be available?
Yes, basic mechanical support will be provided, but participants are responsible for maintaining their own bikes.

Event Logistics

How is timing managed?
A chip-based RFID timing system will track start times, checkpoint crossings, and finish times.

How much time do I have to complete the event?
The time limit is 4:00 PM on September 13.

Will there be aid stations?
Yes, hydration, electrolyte drinks, energy snacks, and medical assistance will be available at strategic locations.

What happens if I withdraw from the event?
You must inform the organizers. A sweep vehicle will be available for those unable to continue.

Safety and Rules

Is it mandatory to follow the official course?
Yes, deviating from the designated course may result in disqualification.

What happens if there is bad weather?
The organizers may modify the course, delay the start, or cancel the event if necessary.

Are there penalties for unsportsmanlike behavior?
Yes, breaking the rules, littering, or engaging in unsportsmanlike conduct may lead to disqualification.
